Production centres

The Bültel Group produces globally in various Asian countries, in Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, Pakistan, and India. In addition to its own production plants in Vietnam and the Philippines, the Bültel Group has relied on select partners in the above-mentioned countries for many years. The focus here is on long-term and sustainable cooperation. All businesses are BSCI-audited, and adherence to social standards is regularly reviewed. Ensuring high standards of quality is the top priority for the Bültel Group.

A team of in-house traveling technicians monitors and supports each production plant over the entire season, and already checks finished orders before they are shipped to Germany. A further comprehensive incoming goods control of each arriving order is carried out in the corporate logistics centre in Germany, in order to ensure adherence to all quality assurance measures, up to delivery to our end customers.

Owner-operated enterprises

The founders of the Bültel Group dared the jump into Asia as early as 1976 and opened their own production plant in the Philippines – the Chung Chiang Enterprises Manufacturing Company. A second plant in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) in Vietnam followed in the year 1992.

Both plants, each with 650 employees, cover a major part of the necessary production capacities, even today. As well as extravagant sportswear jackets and casual blazers, they also produce numerous trousers and five-pocket denims.

In early 2016, after the completion of an annex building, Bültel was able to celebrate the opening of its own development centre in Vietnam. In close collaboration of design and technology in Salzbergen, as well as with the employees in Vietnam, creative and sophisticated prototypes are made for the collections of all the Bültel Group brands. The next step, the Bültel Technical Academy, is already in the planning stage.

The Philippine plant trains and educates technicians who take over production monitoring for the Bültel Group worldwide, thereby ensuring the high quality standard in every phase of the supply chain.

BSCI

The BSCI is a business initiative for companies that are committed to the improvement of working conditions in the global supply chain. The BSCI unites and supports hundreds of companies in their efforts to establish an ethical supply chain. This is done on the basis of a uniform code of conduct and a monitoring system, as well as with training courses. The BSCI thereby provides a development-oriented system that is valid for all sectors and supply countries.

The BSCI’s code of conduct is based on the most important international treaties on the protection of workers’ rights, especially the ILO Conventions and Recommendations. All BSCI participants commit to implement this code in their supply chain.

The BSCI supports companies by preparing numerous instruments and organising comprehensive events for participants and their suppliers in order to reach the goal of a socially compatible supply chain.

CER management

More and more customers, retailers and consumers want to know where and in what circumstances their desired products are produced. Moreover, legislation dictates that clothing is free from prohibited chemicals, contaminants or other substances harmful to health, and that defined limits are strictly adhered to as part of a duty of care.

The Bültel Group meets this obligation with a CER manager who is available as the central contact person for all external and internal questions on the subject of contaminants and product safety.

The CER manager defines all necessary requirements and establishes the corresponding framework conditions. He or she monitors compliance with these framework conditions points out any non-compliance.

He or she is responsible for identifying and consistently avoiding risk potential or security flaws in the entire value chain, and ensures that all technical and organisational requirements in the field of environmental protection are met. The CER manager is responsible for the implementation, continuous further development and constant monitoring of environmental topics within the Bültel Group and ensures that the legal product requirements are met.
